Great site, too bad about the web shop
Posted by Jaan on August 8th, 2008 | Add your comment
There are hardly any companies out there today that don’t know the importance of a solid, on-brand, frequently updated, easy to use site. At the same time the web is full of companies who treat their web shop or e-commerce properties as after thoughts.
Here are the six most common “oversights”.
- Inconsistent navigation
- Unnecessary scroll bars (page in page – yuk!)
- Non-existent or uninformative confirmation pages
- Broken links
- Out of date copyright notices
- Poor copy
Your business and brand are only as strong as your sites weakest page. If this is also where you bring in a percentage of your revenue, you can be in serious trouble: it is crucial that you don’t make your customer question the solidity of your business just as they are looking to part with their money.
