A clean slate of mind
Posted by Jaan on September 21st, 2008 | 2 comments
Once in a while I have to stop and clean out my work space. Not just the physical one, but the digital one too. It’s a fab, simple and quick way to refresh ones mind. Physical clean up equals mental clean up.
I ditch the GTD lists, delete any empty folders, throw away all my templates, tidy up the Address Book and delete all open WriteRoom docs.
And then I start building my digital workspace from scratch; clean slate style. A fresh new GTD set-up. Nice empty WriteRoom files for my content libraries (where I keep regularly used email replies and such). I make sure my apps are all updated and running smoothly, and interact with each other as intended. I even run Disk Utility to make sure the HD is happy.
Then it all feels nice, new and fresh again, and I’m ready to get back to my projects with renewed energy. Works wonders.

For implementing GTD you can use this web-based application:
http://www.Gtdagenda.com
You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version and iCal are available too.
Hi Dan,
Thank you for the tip. It seems your app is getting some traction.
Best of luck with it.
