Cap&Design Magazine, issue 8
Posted by Jaan on October 20th, 2008 | 2 comments
Swedish design magazine Cap&Design asked Andreas and myself to pen a piece on improving one’s blog. Provided with a rather attention grabbing headline, “Så hottar du upp din blogg” (essentially “Pimp your blog”), the story is full of good advice and even some code examples relating to creating and running a good, solid and relevant blog.
Look for issue 8 of Cap&Design where ever you buy your magz.

Looks great guys! What were the things you said that made a big difference?
Thanks Jon.
Key take-aways included:
- Avoiding design templates when possible.
- Thinking about typography (including sIFR).
- Using widgets and feeds in a way that makes sense to you. If you’re a musician, use Dopplr to show how you’re traveling between gigs.
- Using live streaming as a complement to text based posts.
- Not dividing RSS feeds. Keep posts, comments, images etc in one feed (it’s better for your audience who are likely interested in ‘all of you’).
Etc etc.
