Refresh #1

I’m refreshing things, cleaning out, tidying up, getting going. It is amazing how things sometimes just get stuck and refuse to move forward.

Well, it’s not that amazing really. There are no unexpected or unexplainable reasons, just a lack of time. And maybe a need to take a break from “stuff” without admitting it to myself. Either way, I’m taking a close look at what I read, do, write, and speak about. I won’t get to where I want to go over night, but maybe in a week or so. That’s how long I’m giving myself to “tidy things up” and have a new plan in place. I’m doing this refreshing stuff for myself, but by being egoistic I also hope you will find my contributions more valuable.

Things that will change for the better include:

  • The content I publish here at Sharpenr
  • My guest blogging at Think Vitamin (re-start) and Smashing Magazine (start) with Andreas
  • Culling the (once again) out of control feed reader
  • Nailing down my speaking gigs for the rest of the year
  • Getting the new book project off to a flying start

Between saving the bit above as a draft and clicking “publish”, I tidied up my feed reader. The re-curated list of feeds is now neetly divided in to “UX”, “Jag vill läsa” (English: I want to read), “Jag bör läsa” (Eng. I should read) and “Orkar nog inte” (Eng. Probably can’t be bothered). That last category is my holding area for stuff that’ll probably go soon. Number of feeds kept in the other three folders: about 20.

Now I’ll tackle the guest blogging bits. Stay tuned.
