I believe in clarity and simplicity. That is why I help build websites and applications that are free from complexity and endless “extras”, where building something “better” is more important than adding “more”.

The desire for clarity and simplicity is also why I work with the three disciplines that in my opinion matter the most:

• User Experience Design

When each of the three are considered from the start they effectively keep “more” and complexity at bay. (They also build on each other in a way that makes project progress inevitable, and progress in itself is also a good way to focus on what matters.)

I collectively call those three disciplines Functional Creativity because that is what they should ultimately deliver: function and creativity as a way to reach, attract and satisfy an audience.

Functional is easy to understand and helps us get things done. A function has value.
Creativity solves problems, it has the power to involve, guide and evolve.
