A couple of ongoing and recently completed projects, plus a few things I've been up to.
Nothing old, just the new and the reasonably recent.

My work

The Huddle app

- A better user experience

A few notes on how I needed to scratch an itch, and how the team and I took the next step in improving the user experience of the Huddle web app. And how the lovely date picker came to be part of it all.

I have a long held belief…

Web & IT Bar Gotland

- Collaboration, Noded, magic

On Friday December 10 my brother @nofont and I took the stage at Web & IT Bar Gotland to speak about Noded style collaboration.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the chat. Extra big cheers to @bjomi, Twingly’s CTO, for inviting us.

More on the very magical place that is Gotland courtesy of Monocle. Sheep pic by AskeHolst (cc).

HD Live ‘10

- UX workshop

In early November I spoke at HD Live, the UK’s most innovative tech event. Thrilled to be invited back as a presenter for a second consecutive year, I ran the “Analog web UX – The no hurdle approach” workshop with @nofont. I also stood in for my Huddle colleague Alastair Mitchell, musing on the benefits of “The office of the future”.

Fab fellow speakers, good discussions and a relaxed and collaborative vibe. Brilliant. Here are some photos and three nice tweets.

Marö

- A fab evening

On October 28 I enjoyed a very nice evening courtesy of the regional marketing organization Marö in Norrköping.

Andreas and I took the stage to introduce the benefits of a Noded way of working. The Q&A stretched well over our allotted time but no one seemed to mind.

Food and wine was served by Louis de Geer, one of Sweden’s most forward thinking sustainable restaurants. Head Chef Hans-Ove Nilsson spoke passionately about working with local, family owned farms. Fab.

Xobni

- Huddle in Outlook

Huddle is everywhere, including in the Xobni sidebar for Outlook.

It was very interesting to work in this fairly narrow format, and getting the right functionality in place while maintaining the overall user experience and delivering on the expectations of both Huddle and Xobni users. I’m very pleased with the end result. Find out more and download Xobni to take it for a whirl.

Huddle

- Updated brand identity and site

Huddle’s new brand identity and web site are two of the things I have been working on since joining the company in May. More about the work, the background, and the result in my post.

Publishers and entrepreneurs

- On UX and entrepreneurship

Two very different presentations/meet-ups, equally exciting. The first one for the board of the Swedish Magazine Publishers Association, and the second for the Entreprenörsjakten 2010 entrepreneurial competition winners (pic).

Huddle

- Where I work

I joined Huddle as User Experience Director in May 2010. This means the “My work” section will be updated a little less frequently in the future.

I will how ever add major Huddle work here, eventually. And I’ll continue announcing guest blogging spots and side project as usual.

AoT

- I’m interviewed

Sweden’s top publishing industry magazine, Allt om Tidskrifter, interviewed me about how to create great user experiences on tablets like the iPad. As soon as the article goes online (it’s in the latest print issue) I’ll link to it.

Likemind

- A new client

I am very happy to welcome a new agency client of mine. Likemind is known for their work with British Airways, Cadbury, Marks & Spencer, Sky and other quality British and international brands.

We’re just kicking off our collaboration, more details when projects get under way and launch.

Think Vitamin

- Guest blogging

Guest blogging is a lot of fun, and it is an excellent opportunity to talk about my passion subjects with more people.

Starting now (February 2010) I will be posting on a fairly regular basis to one of the web industry’s leading blogs (and a personal favorite of mine) Think Vitamin, together with Andreas Carlsson.

Here are our posts.

Projector

- Work in progress

Stockholm-based Projector delivers imaginative work to top brand like Samsung and Adidas. I am involved with the agency on an exciting project that is a bit hush-hush at the moment.

More info to follow as things go live.
